Tripple Celebration

Feast of Bl. Francis Jordan, Diaconate Ordination and Year of Bl. Francis Jordan

It was a very joyful moment indeed for the Salvatorians in India. The triple celebration was commemorated on July 21, 2021. The community in Shillong began the celebration of the Feast of Bl. Francis Jordan by the blessing of a fountain built in honour of our Founder. His Grace Most Rev. Victor Lyngdoh DD, Archbishop of Shillong, began the Festal Eucharist after blessing the fountain. Fr. Stephen Raj SDS, Rector of the House welcomed the archbishop in the name of the Society and the Congregation to mark the celebration of the first Feast of Bl. Francis Jordan. On this remarkable day, the archbishop ordained three of our confreres Cl. Aviral Kumar Mij, Cl. Johnson Bhengra, Cl. Sigeon Pradeep as deacons. His Grace Most Rev. Victor Lyngdoh was very happy to be part of the historical celebration and fondly remembered the contribution of the Salvatorians to North East India through Bl. Francis Jordan. At the end of the Eucharistic celebration, the archbishop declared that the Year of Bl. Francis Jordan is officially open. The Salvatorian Sisters from Demthring and Mawryngkneng and Fathers from Laitkynsew parish and Nongbah Parish came together as a family to celebrate the Feast of Bl. Jordan, to participate in the Diaconate ordination, and to begin the Year of Bl. Francis Jordan. It was a simple at the same time meaningful celebration.
